REXIAA Group: a recent creation but with a rich history!
In 1986, Philippe Moniot created REX COMPOSITES in Issoire in the Auvergne region to develop high performance composite solutions for the aeronautics industry.
Positioned on the production of complex small runs for the aeronautics industry, we quickly equipped ourselves with advanced technology in the field of composite materials(automated fabric cutting with fibre placement optimization, laser positioning 5-axis water jet cutting, autoclaves, 3 and 5-axis CNC machines ...).
In the space of 20 years, we have increased the size of our workshops by a factor of 30. Subsidiaries with complementary expertise in composite materials, tooling and metal parts (sheet metal and mechanical) as well as hybrid components were gradually added to the parent company.
Notably, in 1995, we took over ISSOIRE AVIATION. In 2000, SCit (St. Claude - Jura) joined the group. More recently, in 2010, it was a company within the SAGEM Group specializing in precision engineering runs for the defence sector, which was brought into the group to complete our offer.
Now, we have a total of 8 companies making up the REXIAA Group, each a specialist in its own trade and with its own know-how.
In 2011, we wanted to develop a new strategic plan to meet your needs better. The creation and development of the REXIAA Group with its 8 companies is part of this prioritized objective.
25 years of innovation
1986: Creation of the joint stock company REX COMPOSITES, by Philippe Moniot (300m²of workshop space).
1987: Development of joint activities with the company T2A (metal tools) also run by Philippe Moniot.
1990: AIRFLO company founded in St. Florine (Haute-Loire), specializing in “wet process” composite materials.
1994: Certification byEUROCOPTERfor the production of high performance composite components and sub-assemblies. Creation of the company2CAin Arlanc (63) to develop composite materials in the construction industry.
1995: Takeover ofISSOIRE AVIATION. Alongside the subcontracting activities, launch of the LIONCEAU programme, the first "all carbon" aircraft with the participation of all the companies in the group.
1999: Certification of the APM LIONCEAU, the first "all carbon" aircraft in the world.
2000: Takeover of SCit, specialists in high performance composite materials, based in Saint-Claude in the Jura.
Qualification by SNCF for the production of parts for the TGV.
2001: Installation of the company SACS specializing in cutting operations and the storage of pre-impregnated items for the whole group (1,600m² of covered space) in the premises of REX Composites.
2006: Company boughtDON FOSTER, specializing in precision mechanical welding, based in Saint-Germain-des-Fosses (Allier region).
2007: Commercialization of the APM 30“all carbon” 3-seater plane, designed and produced by all the companies in the REXIAA Group.
2010: Purchase of ASPIC(Allier region), a company specializing in precision engineering, from the SAFRAN group.
2011: Creation of the REXIAA Group and launch of a new strategic development project.
Commercialization of the APM 40, an “all carbon” 4-seater plane, designed and produced by all the companies in the REXIAA Group.
